Job summary

Talbots in Los Gatos, CA is seeking a part-time store associate to deliver an exceptional customer experience, demonstrate selling competence and styling expertise, and build lasting relationships with guests.

You will support the management team to drive store business, stay current on fashion trends, create outfit recommendations, handle multiple customers, and contribute to achieving sales and service metrics, with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
• Support the management team to build store business and execute operational tasks.
• Assist with service enhancers to build relationships and use Concierge.
• Serve multiple customers, multi-task and manage projects as needed.
• Stay informed on fashion trends and product knowledge to assist customers.
• Create outfit recommendations and match items to customer needs.
• Contribute to achieving sales and service metrics and participate in learning opportunities.

• Have open availability of (15 to 20) hours per week.
• Flexible availability based on the needs of the business including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What You'll Do:

• Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
• Take an active role in assisting the management team to build store business.
• Support all service enhancers to build strong relationships including active use of Concierge.
• Service multiple customers at a time, multi-task and/or handle projects simultaneously.
• Be aware of fashion trends and seek information about all new arrivals, including product knowledge about fit, color, fashion etc.
• Use product knowledge and fashion expertise to create outfits for customers and suggest items to match their needs.
• Maximize individual performance by participating in learning opportunities, accepting direction, coaching and feedback.
• Achieve sales and service metrics in key measurable areas including: clientelling/outreach, appointment setting and Talbots Classic Awards.
• Complete projects as assigned including operational assignments: filling orders, replenishment, recovery etc.
