Job summary

Norman’s Gift Shops, Inc. is hiring a Part Time Sales Associate for our FS K Mall location in Frederick, MD. You will provide a friendly, helpful shopping experience and support sales goals.

You will assist customers, manage the Crown Rewards program enrollment, and learn product knowledge to assist shoppers effectively. This role requires flexibility, teamwork, and a proactive approach to merchandising and customer service.

Qualifications

NORMAN’S, the premiere, and fastest growing employee-owned Hallmark Gold Crown retailer in the East, is seeking a qualified Part Time Sales Associate for our location at the FSK Mall, Frederick, MD We are in the business of helping people capture their emotions and share them with one another. Our Sales Associates are the key contributors in providing a ‘caring team’ atmosphere for our customers. They are most accessible to the consumer and are the primary resource of knowledge on the sales floor. We expect our Sales Associates to show initiative, be a team player, and exemplify excellence during every aspect of the customer experience.

• Infuse our Customer CARE program into the culture of the store in which you drive retail sales by genuinely connecting with the customer, building relationships, and earning her business.
• Belief that the customer always comes first and is the most important individual to our business.
• Meet store specific Crown Rewards program enrollment goals on a consistent basis.
• Ability to learn and be efficient with our register system to ensure a pleasant point of sale experience for our customers. Accountable for cash register accuracy and basic mathematical skills.
• Learn and utilize outstanding selling skills during customer interactions to build sales and drive customer satisfaction.
• Proactively learn retail product knowledge for all merchandise to use when selling to the customer.
• Maintain and restock displays as directed by store management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business, including events, holidays, evenings, and weekends.
• Strong aptitude for basic math functions including percentages and general arithmetic.
• Ability to continuously stand/walk; frequently push/pull; occasionally bend/stoop/crawl/reach above shoulders/kneel; climb a ladder, and carry up to 40 pounds, e.g., fixture parts and cartons.
