Job summary

Smyths Toys is seeking organised Sales Assistants for temporary contracts. You will deliver high levels of customer service, understand shoppers’ needs, and work as part of a fast-paced team in our stores open seven days a week.

Initial employment is temporary to assess fit for our expanding business. Suitable candidates may have experience in outdoor/bikes, nursery, software and gaming, or warehouses, and must be flexible to varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail is beneficial but not mandatory.

About The Role

Contract and Pay

This is a temporary contract, with a rate of pay of £12.80 per hour for over 21 and £10.55 per hour for under 21.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service
• Ascertain customers' needs and wants
• Work as part of a fast paced and dynamic team
• Keep the store clean and tidy
• Pack shelves and merchandise
• Work delivery and complete price changes
• Work on the tills
• Learn about and keep up to date with our products in order to help customers

The Ideal Candidate

Retail experience in the following areas is highly desirable, but not essential:

• Outdoor/Bikes
• Nursery
• Software & Gaming
• Backdoor/Warehouse

Our stores are open 7 days a week so we need our Sales Assistants to be as flexible as possible.

Initially, you will be hired on a temporary basis to give you the opportunity to see if you enjoy this fast paced world of retail.
