Job summary

Safety-Kleen in Santa Paula, CA is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver who trains to drive a Class B box truck for onsite parts washer service, containerized hazardous waste pickup, and route-based selling.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL required.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment.
• Basic computer and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow all safety policies.
• Visit up to 10–12 customer sites per day.
• Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions.
• Service parts washers and clean sinks.
• Upsell at customer locations and generate new leads.
• Service automotive repair, fleets and manufacturing clients.
• Perform daily scheduled services, deliveries and pickups on time.
• Follow all local, state and federal compliance requirements.
• Operate vehicles per DOT and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner

• Service parts washer machines and clean out sediment from sinks

• Up-sell at customer locations and generate new leads in the field

• Service automotive repair, fleets, and manufacturing type businesses

• Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pick-ups in a timely manner

• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules

• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements

• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines

• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Class B CDL

• Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment

• Basic computer and math skills

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Strong customer service skills

• Perform physical functions per job requirements

• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position

• Per OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.134, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong customer service skills

• Commercial route driving experience (Class C or Non-CDL)
