Overview

We are seeking a Sales & Business Development Representative for our operations near Brookwood, Alabama. The role requires upholding the Warrior Way – Safer, Accountability, Follow Through, Excellence, Responsibility – and embodying the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork.

About the Role

Under the guidance of the Chief Commercial Officer, the Representative supports Warrior Met Coal in achieving the highest value for its coals, building long‑term relationships with leading steel producers, and establishing a world‑class sales and marketing department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Management & Sales: develop and enhance key customer relationships; actively seek and develop new commercial opportunities; manage the full transaction cycle from bid to delivery, invoicing, and resolution of quality penalties and demurrage; monitor contract performance; prepare and deliver customer updates and performance presentations; develop commercial proposals; assist in contract negotiations; coordinate root‑cause analyses; support vessel scheduling with the export team.
  • Business Development: pursue new customers, geographies and markets; coordinate tender/proposal/negotiation processes; set pricing and develop internal pricing approval processes.
  • Strategy & Planning: assist in developing and implementing the annual sales plan; create and implement customer segmentation and pricing strategy; ensure alignment with company strategic objectives.
  • Marketing: become an internal subject‑matter expert on steel and met‑coal markets; monitor industry trends, competitors, and global markets; maintain an active database of relevant data; produce monthly marketing discussions and materials for business reviews; prepare marketing material for board meetings; support external communications.
  • Business Process & KPI Management: monitor all sales and marketing KPIs; provide forecasting for pricing and sales volume; develop corrective actions; assist in preparing sales‑related material for internal business reviews and board meetings; participate in STIP meetings; support inventory management reporting.
  • Travel & External Engagement: up to 50% international travel to visit customer sites and industry conferences; coordinate with export, logistics, and inventory functions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5years experience in mining, manufacturing, or commercial sales/logistics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or finance preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with international customers and internal teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proactive, able to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Knowledge of steel and met‑coal industries preferred.
  • Strong understanding of supply, demand fundamentals and commodity sales.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate industry trends into actionable insights.
