Job summary

A reputable agronomy company in Iowa is seeking a Sales Agronomist to provide crop input recommendations and build strong grower relationships.

You will work with other agronomists to prepare sales presentations, contracts, and proposals, and to forecast seed, fertilizer, and chemical needs.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year agronomy experience, a degree in Agronomy/Agriculture, and the motivation to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of agronomy related experience preferred.
  • A degree in Agronomy/Agriculture preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Make seed, fertilizer and chemical recommendations to growers.
  • Work alongside other agronomists to carry out daily responsibilities.
  • Facilitate positive long-term relationships with customers to create and promote long term repeat business.
  • Prepare sales presentations, contracts and proposals to ensure successful transactions.
  • Forecast supply requirements by month and on an annual basis.
  • Perform a variety of agronomic duties independently.
  • Keep up to date on all agronomy services and technology, including seed, Precision Farming technology, finance and marketing tools.
