Job summary

Molex, a leading connector and interconnect solutions provider, is seeking an experienced Account Manager in the Austin area to own and grow a strategic global EMS/ODM account. You will engage engineers, uncover design opportunities, and drive revenue and margin growth across our full product portfolio.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in account management or technical sales, is adept at navigating complex organizations, and can travel 20-25%.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in account management, technical sales, business development, or sales engineering within the electronics, connector, or interconnect industry.
  • Experience selling connector, interconnect, cable assembly, or related electronic component solutions.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems for opportunity and pipeline management.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20-25%.

  • Grow existing business while continuously expanding the pipeline of new opportunities.

Your Job

We're looking for an experiencedAccount Managerto own and grow a strategic global EMS/ODM account in the Austin,Texas area. You'll be the face of our company to this customer, building relationships at every level, creating demand for new designs, and driving both revenue and margin growth.

You’ll represent a broad portfolio of connector and interconnect solutions that enable next-generation data center infrastructure and other high-growth technology applications. This role combines technical sales, relationship management, and strategic account leadership to help customers solve complex connectivity challenges while creating long-term value for both organizations.

This isn't a role where you manage a spreadsheet and wait for orders. You'll be engaging engineers, uncovering new design opportunities, navigating complex organizations, and bringing innovative solutions to life across our full product portfolio.

The ideal candidate is a consultative sales professional who enjoys engaging engineers, uncovering design opportunities, and influencing products from concept through production.

What You Will Do

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • 5+ years of experience in account management, technical sales, business development, or sales engineering within the electronics, connector, or interconnect industry.
  • Demonstrated success by creating demand, winning new business, and driving growth through design opportunities.
  • Experience selling connector, interconnect, cable assembly, or related electronic component solutions.
  • Ability to understand customer applications and align technical solutions to business needs.
  • Experience building relationships across engineering, procurement, supply chain, and commercial functions.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems for opportunity and pipeline management.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20-25%.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience supporting EMS, ODM, server, storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, or data center customers.
  • Industry experience in Data Communications, Gaming, Industrial, or Aerospace & Defense markets.
  • Existing relationships within the Dallas-Fort Worth or Austin electronics ecosystem.
  • Proven track record of winning competitive designs and displacing incumbent suppliers.
  • Experience managing globally complex accounts and supporting international demand transfers.
  • Ability to identify emerging customer needs and translate them into strategic growth opportunities.
  • Familiarity with high-speed connectivity, power, connector, cable assembly, or interconnect technologies.
  • Ability to engage confidently in technical discussions with customer engineering teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field.
