Summary
- Prepares salads and desserts, serves on patient tray assembly line, and assembles cold food for Meals on Wheels program. Maintains salad dessert storage, preparation areas and equipment in orderly, clean, and sanitary condition.
- Experience with food production, basic nutrition knowledge, salad dessert and modified diets, food handling and sanitation procedures, safety rules and equipment operation.
- Responsible for supply procurement, measurement, set‑up, standardized recipes and portions.
- Sets up stations, adheres to appearance standards and supports backup tasks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare salads and desserts according to standardized recipes.
- Maintain preparation areas in neat, clean condition.
- Set up salad and dessert stations on patient tray assembly line.
- Place items on trays in proper manner.
- Assist with backup duties when needed.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1 year quantity food production experience.
- 1 year basic nutrition knowledge.
- 3 years salad dessert and modified diets experience.
- 3 years food handling and sanitation procedures experience.
- 3 years safety rules and equipment operation experience.
- Attention, concentration, learning and memory, problem solving, reasoning, creative thinking, temperament, communication and interpersonal relations skills as described.
Equipment Usage Requirements
- Tools: ovens, steamer, mixer, food processor, steam kettle, tube system, telephone, pans, knives, cutting boards, scales, thermometers, pens, menus, recipes, charts, can opener.
- Software: e‑mail.
