Job summary

ShopRite of Bordentown in Bordentown, NJ is seeking a Salad Bar Clerk to deliver friendly, knowledgeable service and maintain attractive, safe produce displays. The role emphasizes customer engagement and proper food handling in a fast-paced store environment.

You will greet customers, offer samples, and prepare products while following safety procedures. The position includes regional store responsibilities and opportunities for overtime with benefits eligibility after enrollment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to operate equipment such as knives, scale, can opener.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.

Responsibilities

• Maintain bar and display conditions by filling, cleaning, straightening, culling and rotating product.
• Greet Customers and provide samples as requested.
• Prepare product with proper washing, cutting, peeling and slicing procedures.
• Utilize and maintain equipment; report any problems immediately.
• Check temperatures in display case and storage areas; report failures.
• Receive and store product to ensure quality and rotation.
• Handle damaged and unsaleable product per policy.
• Maintain signage on items for product choices, price, allergens and ingredients.
• Maintain supply area, utensils, packaging and condiments.
• Follow QA hand washing standards and use gloves when handling food.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, safe work environment.
