Job summary

Walt Churchill's Market in Maumee, OH is seeking a Part-Time Salad Bar Attendant to keep our Famous Salad Bar clean and well-stocked while interacting with customers. This role reports to the Produce Manager and supports the Salad Bar and Produce teams.

Primary duties include greeting customers, answering questions, preparing dressings, stocking items, and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to frequently lift 10–30 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours) and perform physical tasks.
• Weekend and holiday availability required.

Responsibilities

• Cut vegetables to fill and replenish the Salad Bar and Olive Bar.
• Prepare hot food items to stock the Salad Bar (e.g., chicken, bacon, salmon).
• Prepare fresh-made salad dressings.
• Work with vendors to order products for the Salad Bar and Olive Bar.
• Keep Salad Bar and Olive Bar tidy and clean; perform weekly deep clean.
• Assist Produce Department with stocking and deliveries; cut fruits/vegetables as needed.

Job Description:

The Salad Bar Attendant reports to the Produce Manager and is responsible for ensuring our Famous Salad Bar is clean and well-stocked with fresh items. They provide excellent service to our customers by greeting and interacting with them, answering their questions, and recommending products. They will maintain general sanitation practices, food safety practices, and food storage practices within both store and health department standards. There will be additional duties as assigned. This position requires flexible availability (possible mid-day, late afternoon shifts).

Essential Duties:

• Cutting vegetables to fill and replenish the Salad Bar and Olive Bar
• Preparing hot food items to stock the Salad Bar, such as chicken, bacon, and salmon
• Preparing fresh-made salad dressings
• Working with vendors to order product specific to the Salad Bar and Olive Bar
• Putting away stock and keeping product organized
• Maintaining product knowledge in order to assist our Produce Department and Salad Bar customers
• Keeping the Salad Bar and Olive Bar tidy and clean (including a weekly deep clean)
• Additional duties may include: Assisting to keep the Produce Department stocked and fronted, assisting with truck deliveries, and assisting with cutting fruits and vegetables for the produce case.
