Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support the Special Assets Group in qualitative and quantitative analysis of high-risk commercial clients. You will assist in developing resolution strategies, ensure compliance with policies, and collaborate with stakeholders across Risk, Legal and Operations.

The role emphasizes strong financial modeling, risk assessment, and adaptive problem solving in a fast-paced environment with a focus on reducing losses and strengthening

Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing commercial borrowers and supporting portfolio management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with financial models.
  • Understanding of commercial workout, distress credit management.
  • Strong relationship-building with Risk, Legal, Operations teams.
  • Self-motivated learner adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of commercial banking regulations and risk policies.
  • Completion of banking/accounting/credit training or certifications.

Responsibilities

Job Description:
This job is responsible for assisting with the qualitative and quantitative analysis of a high-risk/criticized or distressed commercial clients. Key responsibilities include supporting Special Assets Group Portfolio Officers in developing and executing resolution strategies focused on reducing the volatility and severity of losses in the portfolio. Job expectations include strict adherence to all bank policies and regulatory requirements, proactive identification and mitigation of risks within the portfolio, and maintaining high standards of integrity and ethics standards in all interactions.


Responsibilities:



  • Conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis of high-risk/criticized or distressed commercial clients for Special Assets Group Portfolio Officers

  • Supports adversarial collection actions such as litigation, foreclosures, bankruptcies, and receiverships

  • Adheres to bank policies and regulatory standards contributing to compliance initiatives

  • Supports the asset quality process of the portfolio through effective risk management practices and periodic portfolio reviews

  • Assists with maintaining and establishing collaborative partnerships with stakeholders


Desired Qualifications



  • Experience analyzing commercial borrowers, preparing credit underwriting packages, or supporting portfolio management activities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, including experience building, maintaining, and analyzing financial models.

  • Understanding of commercial workout, restructuring, special assets, or distressed credit management.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate with business partners across Risk, Legal, Operations, and other support functions.

  • Self-motivated learner with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.

  • Knowledge of commercial banking regulations, credit policies, and risk management practices.

  • Completion of relevant banking, accounting, or credit training programs, internships, or certifications.
