Job summary

Austin Industrial seeks a Safety Technician to implement the site safety program on assigned projects, educate staff on safety requirements, and ensure compliance with company and customer policies.

You will build relationships with client representatives, assist in safety reporting, conduct trainings, and represent the company professionally in the field; the role involves extensive time on site, coaching crews, and supporting the HSE manager when needed.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 510 preferred.
• 2 years of maintenance and construction experience.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Build working relationships with customer representatives, project staff, and subcontractor safety representatives.
• Assist in creating accurate safety reports and accident investigation documents.
• Assist in staff safety training and subcontractor development.
• Represent company in a positive and professional manner with the customer and subcontractors.
• Create and facilitate safety trainings and orientations aligned with project specifics and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s current safety manual, policies and expectations.
• Majority of time spent in the field observing work, coaching, auditing, and engaging craft employee-owners.
• Help project supervision resolve safety problems and issues in the field.
• Fill in for site HSE manager during absences.
• Other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time job working 40 hours a week. No per diem and no relocation assistance.
