Job summary

Sheakley is seeking a Construction Site Safety Technician in Trenton, OH for a 12-month, 1099 contractor role. The position involves hands-on field safety oversight for electrical installation and utility construction on a large-scale data center project.

Local pay rate is $63/hr with non-local at $48/hr, plus per diem for non-local candidates and weekly pay. The candidate will work 50–60 hours per week (Mon-Sat, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM) with overtime after 40 hours at 1.4x base rate and a $150/month

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification is required.
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
• Experience overseeing safety for electrical contractors.
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for electrical construction activities.
• Maintain a highly visible presence in active work areas.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, observations, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor electrical installation and utility construction activities.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions with electricians and supervision.
• Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control activities.
• Review JHAs, permits, and pre-task plans.
• Monitor fall protection and elevated work, MEWPs, and material handling.

Location: Trenton, OH

Duration: 12 Months (Immediate Need)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $63/hr (Local) | $48/hr (Non-Local)

Overtime: Paid After 40 Hours at 1.4x Base Rate

Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week for Non-Local Candidates)

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM | 50-60 Hours Per Week

Required Qualifications

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide daily field safety oversight for electrical construction activities
• Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas
• Conduct routine safety inspections, observations, audits, and hazard assessments
• Monitor electrical installation and utility construction activities
• Work directly with electricians, foremen, and supervision to identify and correct unsafe conditions
• Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control activities
• Monitor temporary power and electrical safe work practices
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
• Monitor fall protection, elevated work, aerial lifts, and material handling operations
• Support excavation and underground utility activities where applicable
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
• Document field observations and track corrective actions through completion
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
• Maintain required inspection records, safety documentation, and compliance reports
• Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
• Coordinate closely with the Project Safety Manager and other members of the site safety team
