Function: Environmental, Health & Safety
The Safety Superintendent is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight for occupational safety, health, and security programs to ensure regulatory compliance, effective risk management, and continuous improvement. This position plays a critical role in advancing a culture of safety excellence by engaging employees, developing safety personnel, reducing operational risk, and aligning safety initiatives with business objectives.
Develop and implement strategies that advance safety performance and strengthen the facility safety culture.
Lead, coach, and develop safety and security personnel.
Foster employee engagement, ownership, and continuous improvement through communication and training.
Ensure compliance with regulations, company standards, and risk management requirements.
Lead audits, inspections, and corrective action programs.
Identify, assess, and mitigate occupational safety, health, and security risks.
Develop and maintain safety, health, and security programs.
Monitor performance through metrics, inspections, and trend analysis.
Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and records management.
Provide effective safety, health, and security training.
Communicate performance trends, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities.
Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into operations.
Represent the facility on corporate, industry, regulatory, and community committees.
Oversee emergency response, security, accountability, and preparedness programs.
Comply with internal control requirements and identify deficiencies.
