Job summary

CK Construction Group is seeking a Safety Manager to lead field safety programs, coordinate with managers and crews, and ensure regulatory compliance across projects. You will develop and monitor safety plans, conduct audits, and drive incident investigations to prevent recurrence.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in safety and health and 2–4+ years in construction safety, with OSHA/EPA knowledge and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety and health or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.
  • 2 to 4+ years of experience with safety and health in the construction industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA regulations and other state/federal safety regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor the Company Safety and Health Program at assigned location(s).
  • Assist in developing strategies to reduce injuries, illnesses, and incidents.
  • Support pre-job safety planning meetings and site-specific safety plans.
  • Lead safety meetings and training programs and schedule safety training.
  • Conduct and document safety audits, evaluations, inspections and safety conversations.
  • Investigate injuries, illnesses, and liability incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors and vendors to ensure policy adherence.

Check out our website to learn more and apply today!Job Description:Position Summary: Responsible for providing field support services and assisting managers, supervisors, and team members with the implementation of specific company safety and health policies and procedures. Regulatory compliance, continual improvement of the overall performance of the company in a manner that is consistent with the company’s core values.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Implement and Monitor: Coordinate, implement, and monitor the Company Safety and Health Program at assigned location or locations.Mitigation Strategies: Assist in developing and implementing strategies to reduce injuries, illnesses, and incidents to meet project and/or business objectives.Pre-Job Planning: Support pre-job safety planning meetings and assist with the development and execution of the site-specific safety and health plan, including all elements.Training and Education: Initiate, coordinate and lead safety meetings and training programs to communicate company procedures. Monitor and assist in scheduling safety training for team members.Audits and Inspections: Independently initiate, perform and document safety and health audits, evaluations, inspections and/or safety conversations; communicate and facilitate the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.Incident Investigation and Analysis: Assist in investigating injury, illness, and general liability incidents, providing recommendations for strategies to reduce future occurrences. Conduct quality and timely investigation, analysis and coding of worker’s compensation and general liability incidents into the company’s data management system.Technical Communication: Distribute safety correspondence and where directed, assist with enhancement of elements of the safety and health management system. Update team members on regulatory and company policy/procedure changes.Identify Individual Training/Support: Identify and assist team members in need of training or support to meet safety and health requirements.Safety Program Coordination: Coordinate project safety programs with subcontractors, vendors, and third-party personnel to ensure adherence to regulatory, owner, and site-specific safety policies and procedures. Participate in subcontract/vendor coordination meetings and address any concerns with operations management or Safety Manager.Point of Contact: Under the guidance of a Company Safety Manager, Director or VP of Safety, serve as a point of contact for any federal, state, or municipal safety or risk management authority and/or personnel, (i.e. OSHA, MSHA, EPA, etc.). Interact with and assist in communication with the client. Assist corporate insurance personnel in investigating and managing incidents to minimize loss.Education/Experience:Bachelor’s degree in safety and health or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.2 to 4+ years of experience with safety and health in the construction industry preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Technical Skills:Knowledge of OSHA, , and EPA regulations as well as other state/federal safety regulations and company safety policies/procedures.Ability to prioritize tasks independently and manage safety programs effectively.Ability to conduct and document safety and health audits, evaluations, inspections and/or behavioral observations.Ability to work in high production environment) and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.Personal computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Phone Apps, etc.).Organization and administrative recording skills.Basic writing and communication skills (MS Suite, emails, memos, correspondence, etc.).Ability to work independently with regular guidance from a Safety Manager or mentor.Willingness to learn and apply business unit operational means and methods, including leading and lagging indicators; uses this understanding to achieve results.Leadership Skills:Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to think independently and communicate thoroughly to influence the proper implementation of safety and health policies and procedures.Develops the ability to make independent judgements to manage and facilitate company programs/policies related to the safety of the work.Ability to positively interact and influence supervisors, operations managers, and field team members to create a safe work environment.Ability to explain information to others to positively impact behaviors.Knowledgeable with assigned projects and develops understanding of operations to integrate best practices and recommendations.Seeks out opportunities for development of technical skills and leadership.Operates with honesty and integrity.Acts as a resource for supervisors, operations managers, and team members.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:Valid Driver’s License, good driving record required.CPR/First Aid certification preferred.OSHA 30-Hour and 10-Hour Trainer certification preferred.GSP (Graduate Safety Practitioner) or CHST preferred.CK Construction is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action federal and state contractor.
