Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Safety Sitter for Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA. Per diem shifts with flexible hours, including weekend and holiday rotation, 7:00am–7:30pm or 7:15pm–7:15am. Schedule minimum 8 hours per 6 week cycle with weekend coverage.

The role involves rounds and observation of patients at risk for suicide or injury under supervision, ensuring safety and well-being. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, CPR within six months, and basic computer skills; healthcare

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Secondary healthcare training including mental health preferred.
• Proficient computer skills with medical software preferred.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• Education and experience equivalent to 1 year required.
• CPR certification required within six months.
• Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Perform rounds and observation of patients at risk for suicide or injury.
• Monitor and respond to behavioral and safety concerns under supervision.
• Maintain patient safety and report incidents according to policy.

We are searching for a talented Safety Sitter

Hours:Per Diem

Responsibilities

Under supervision of individually assigned Manager, Patient Care Services or Designee, perform various duties in providing rounds and observation of assigned patients who may be at risk for suicide or high risk to injury of themselves or others.

Qualifications

• Equal to completion of four years of high school or equivalent.
• Additional secondary healthcare training including mental health training is preferred.
• Proficient computer skills including medical based programs are preferred.
• Previous similar patient care experience is preferred.
• Education and experience equivalent to one (1) year of experience is required.
• CPR certification required within six months.

• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

• Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Pay Range

USD $16.11 - USD $26.02 /Hr.

Rotation Schedule Requirement

Schedule minimum of 8 hrs per 6 week schedule to include 16 hrs on weekend shifts. Schedule one major summer and one major winter holiday per the needs of the schedule.
