Job summary

Methodist Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable PRN Safety & Security Officer to protect patients, visitors, staff and hospital property. You will conduct patrols, respond to incidents, enforce safety policies, and support emergency preparedness.

This role requires strong communication, observation, conflict resolution, and the ability to stay calm during emergencies. Prior healthcare security experience is preferred; CPR certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in security, safety, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
• Valid Class D driver\'s license or higher; ability to obtain a CDL within 1 year of employment.
• CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and hospital property.
• Conduct routine patrols of hospital buildings and grounds to identify security concerns and safety risks.
• Control access to restricted areas and monitor for unauthorized entry.
• Direct traffic at the hospital entrance to assist emergency vehicles and visitors.
• Enforce hospital security policies and procedures to promote safety.
• Report safety concerns and assist with safety education and training initiatives.
• Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation.
• Provide courteous assistance as a visible security presence.
