Job summary

The City of New York is hiring a Community Coordinator (56058) for the Department of Transportation's RIS team. The role focuses on planning, designing, and implementing street safety projects, including daylighting at intersections, to improve safety for pedestrians and all road users.

The ideal candidate has a degree and relevant experience in community work, strong writing and outreach skills, and proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of related experience; or
• High school diploma and six years of related experience; or
• Equivalent combinations with at least one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, design and implement street safety projects.
• Conduct field work, evaluate high-crash locations and analyze data.
• Coordinate implementation and provide technical assistance to staff.
• Engage community boards and officials through outreach and meetings.
