HITT Contracting Inc. is seeking a Safety Project Engineer for a year-long, on-site development program paired with a Safety Department sponsor. The role focuses on safety culture, mentorship, and hands-on experience to advance toward an Assistant Safety Manager position.
As a full-time PES, you will shadow senior safety leaders, support inspections, orientations, and daily safety briefings, and collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors on safety-focused tasks across projects.

Safety Project Engineer
The Project Engineer Safety (PES) team member is paired with a safety sponsor from the HITT Safety Department for at least one year of on-site experience, following a structured, year-long development plan. The program offers an immersive learning environment with customized training, mentorship, and hands‑on experience to prepare participants for advancement to an Assistant Safety Manager role. PES team members are assigned to a Safety Manager or Senior Safety Manager and focus on understanding HITT culture, constructability, and safety practices. Full‑time on‑site commitment throughout the 12‑month program ensures comprehensive shadowing, professional development, and meaningful contributions to HITT’s culture of safety excellence.

In accordance with Virginia Senate Bill 215 (SB 215), the base salary range for this position is:
$79,800.00 - $79,800.00
Compensation in other cities and states may vary. HITT Contracting offers a competitive total benefits and compensation package including performance‑based bonuses, premium health care coverage including vision and dental, employer‑matched 401(k), wellness reimbursement program, paid holidays and time‑off, and other voluntary benefits and leave types. The determination of salary is based on the candidate’s individual professional experience, qualifications, education, skills, and training.
