Job summary

South Sioux City Area Chamber of Commerce & CVB is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support safety programs, employee training, and incident investigations to help ensure regulatory compliance across the facility.

The role focuses on promoting safe work practices, identifying hazards, coordinating trainings, maintaining records, and assisting supervisors in safety communications and expectations, with a strong emphasis on practical, actionable safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Must be able to identify hazards and recommend practical solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train and engage employees on safety.
• Excellent organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
• Proficient with OSHA recordkeeping documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and administering safety programs and policies.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and facility walkthroughs.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coach employees.
• Maintain OSHA and safety documentation.
• Coordinate and conduct safety training activities.
• Respond to workplace injuries and investigate incidents.
• Maintain incident records and support corrective actions.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across the organization.
• Assist in emergency drills and preparedness activities.
