Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-divisional execution ensuring standardized processes, tools, and reporting across Alaska, Horizon, and Hawaiian operations.

Role Summary

The Safety Programs Execution Manager is a subject matter expert in the execution, standardization, and continuous improvement of Safety programs across Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, and Hawaiian Airlines. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to translate enterprise safety strategy into consistent, repeatable execution across company operations.

This role is accountable for executing and sustaining the outcomes of safety programs and safety transformation by driving adoption of standardized processes, reporting, and tools, improving safety data quality and usability, and embedding execution discipline across operating divisions. Through strong partnership with operational leaders, this position ensures safety programs are consistently applied, effectively measured, and continuously improved to reduce risk and strengthen operational performance.

Key Duties
  • Translate safety strategy and transformation initiatives into actionable implementation plans and drive sustained delivery of enterprise safety programs.
  • Lead cross-divisional execution of safety initiatives ensuring standardized processes, tools, and reporting are consistently adopted across Alaska, Horizon, and Hawaiian operations.
  • Partner with division leadership to identify safety performance gaps and implement corrective actions that improve reliability and reduce operational risk.
  • Drive implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of safety data systems and tools, ensuring high data quality and actionable insights for frontline decision‑making.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, execution discipline, and accountability mechanisms to sustain safety transformation and systems gains and prevent regression.
  • Analyze safety data and trends to identify risks, inform mitigation strategies, and measure effectiveness of safety programs and transformation outcomes.
  • Lead change management, communication, and training efforts to improve frontline engagement and adoption of Safety Management System practices and standardized safety processes.
  • Influence stakeholders across multiple levels to align priorities, remove barriers, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
Job‑Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
  • 4 years of experience in safety programs, operations, continuous improvement, project management, or a related discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience driving program execution, process improvement, or change management initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
  • Ability to operate independently and exercise sound judgment in complex, cross‑divisional environments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
  • Experience executing enterprise transformation initiatives or scaling program outcomes into sustained operations.

Salary Range

$99,850 -- $149,800 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
