Job summary

EXCEL Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a qualified Safety professional for a Maintenance role to oversee job-site safety, monitor for hazardous atmospheres, and enforce PPE requirements across projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years as a Construction Site Safety Manager, CSST or equivalent, and proficiency with OSHA 1926 and MS Office; you will fill out paperwork accurately, work outdoors year-round, and collaborate with teams to maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as Construction Site Safety Manager
• OSHA 1926 knowledge and compliance
• Proficient with MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• CSST certification or equivalent preferred (not always required)

Responsibilities

• Ensure job site safety for workers and PPE compliance
• Monitor for hazardous atmospheres and enforce safety procedures
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Perform accurate safety paperwork and record-keeping
• Collaborate with teams to maintain a safety-focused work environment
• Wear flame retardant clothing provided by the company

EXCEL Group is a renowned industrial contractor with a commitment to excellence and a track record of delivering exceptional projects. We are seeking a talented and dedicated Safety person for a Maintenance position to contribute to our continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for job site safety for workers through monitoring for hazardous atmosphere and ensuring proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to work outside year around in all weather conditions, may include nights, weekends, holiday and overtime.
• Must be able to work at heights, climb stairs and ladders. Occasional Lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to fill out paperwork correctly and accurately.
• Must have a safety mindset and work well with others.
• Flame Retardant Clothing will be provided.

Qualifications:

Experience: At least 5 yrs experience as a Construction Site Safety Manager

Certification/Education: Minimum of a CSST or equivalent certification(s) and/or degrees (Degree not required)

Knowledge/Skills: OSHA 1926, computer skills to include PowerPoint, Excel, Word
