Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Site Safety Manager to oversee safety for approximately 50 employees at Flint Assembly. You will join a team of safety practitioners but focus on this single site, ensuring regulatory compliance and proactive safety culture.

The role requires MIOSHA experience, strong leadership, and excellent communication. Prior experience in hospitality/facilities services or automotive settings is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Occupational Safety, Public Health, or relevant field; in lieu of degree, commensurate experience may be considered.
• Experience related to MIOSHA compliance including field level implementation.
• Hospitality or facilities services and/or automotive experience strongly preferred.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to collaborate in a union environment.
• Self-starter with initiative and strong time-management.
• Attention to detail and project management experience are a must.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; proficient with MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of workers through training, education, and daily communication per MIOSHA requirements.
• Understand and comply with General Motors Safety Contract Management programs and protocols.
• Maintain, update, and create safety management systems as needed.
• Navigate a union environment effectively between management and frontline staff.
• Promote a proactive safety culture rather than a reactive one.
• Train on regulatory topics including asbestos, lead-based paint, bloodborne pathogens, confined space, energy control, fall protection, and hearing conservation.
• Support safety strategies and business development efforts for other clients as needed.
• Manage by walking around (40-60% of time).

Job Description

This is a Site Safety Manager that is responsible for the safety and well-being of about 50 employees on one site. We serve a client in a facilities capacity in an industrial atmosphere. You will be part of an awesome team of about10 safety practitioners that serve this client, but you will be responsible for only Flint Assembly.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of workers through training, education, and daily communication through implementationand interpretation of MIOSHA Regulatory requirements applicable to the scope of work being performed.
• Understand and comply with General Motors - Safety Contract Management programs and protocols
• Maintain/ update/ create as necessary safety management system
• Walk the thin line between management and the front line in a union environment
• Work towards a proactive safety culture rather than a reactive one
• Perform training on regulatory compliance topics including, asbestos, lead-based paint, blood bornepathogens, confined space, energy control, fall protection, and hearing conservation
• Support the development and implementation of additional safety strategies within the scope of work for thisclient as well as to support business development efforts for other clients
• Manage by walking about (40-60% of your time)

• Strong oral and written communication skills (including public speaking)Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
