Ideal candidates should possess a safety management degree or equivalent experience, OSHA Certification, and a valid TWIC Card. Qualifications

• Safety management degree preferred or equivalent job experience.
• Experience in heavy construction and transit authority is recommended.
• Valid TWIC Card required.
• OSHA Certification in Construction required.
• Flexibility to work all shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute health and safety training in the workplace.

• Inspect equipment and construction projects to observe possible unsafe conditions.

• Develop and execute health and safety plans/training in the workplace
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
• Coach/correct safety concerns in the field
• Perform field safety audits
• Inspect equipment and construction projects to observe possible unsafe conditions
• Investigate accidents or incidents
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
• Prepare safety permits/approvals
• Provide professional expertise

Requirements

• Safety management college degree preferred or relative job experience
• Heavy construction and/or transit authority experience recommended
• Railroad construction safety experience preferred
• Would need to have a valid TWIC Card
• OSHA Certification (10, 30, 510, or 500) in Construction
• Ability to work all shifts (day/night/weekends). Good communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Valid Driver's License
