Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. seeks a Safety Manager to oversee safety performance across assigned business units and direct reports. You will lead safety development, conduct inspections, and participate in shaping HITT’s corporate safety program and culture.

The role requires overseeing multiple projects, identifying hazards, and driving training initiatives to improve safety metrics. Base salary aligns with market ranges and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in safety or related field is preferred.
  • CHST or CSP designation is preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is required or preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Hour for construction completed; OSHA 500 preferred.
  • Eight or more years of construction safety experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage direct report workloads based on project needs and staffing requirements.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and yearly performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Assess training needs and provide safety department support as needed.
  • Review career paths and provide feedback on development.
  • Lead safety inspections and analyze incident data to identify trends.
  • Develop and deliver safety toolbox talks and project orientations.

This individual is a safety resource at the project, business unit and corporate levels. This individual regularly assesses the safety needs of their assigned business units or projects and utilizes their assigned resources to meet those needs. OSHA 500 preferredDegree and five years of experience or eight or more years of construction safety experience. HITT Contracting offers a competitive total benefits and compensation package including performance-based bonuses, premium health care coverage including vision and dental, employer-matched 401(k), wellness reimbursement program, paid holidays and time-off, and other voluntary benefits and leave types.
