Paycom - ATS is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to lead and manage company-wide health and safety programs, ensuring OSHA compliance and a safe work environment for all employees. The role involves training, hazard analysis, incident investigations, and promoting a culture of safety across managers and staff.

The ideal candidate has seven or more years of experience in manufacturing or sawmill settings, with strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and a proven ability to implement effective

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in safety-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Seven+ years leading health and safety programs in manufacturing or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and Oregon OSHA regulations and requirements.
  • Experience delivering safety training and conducting audits and investigations.

Responsabilités

  • Lead, develop, implement, and manage health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA/Oregon OSHA and other regulations; maintain required records.
  • Provide safety training (LOTO, HazCom, Fire Prevention, PPE, etc.) to staff and management.
  • Conduct investigations of accidents, near-misses, and incidents; determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Perform safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments; monitor corrective actions and follow-ups.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Health and Safety Manager is responsible for leading, supporting, developing, and implementing company health and safety programs, policies, procedures, and training to maintain a safe, healthful, and accident-free work environment.The Health and Safety Manager must maintain a strong working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local occupational health and safety laws and regulations. This position works closely with managers, supervisors, and employees to promote safe work practices, identify and correct workplace hazards, reduce injuries and incidents, and maintain compliance with company safety programs and regulatory requirements.PRINCIPAL DUTIESLead, develop, implement, and manage company health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, Oregon OSHA, and other occupational health and safety regulations and requirements.Provide company-specific and required safety training to employees, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication (HazCom), Fire Prevention, Heat Illness Prevention, Injury and Illness Prevention, Machine Guarding, Forklift Safety, PPE, and other required safety topics.Promote a strong safety culture by developing processes, systems, and programs designed to identify workplace hazards and prevent injuries and incidents before they occur.Coach and mentor managers and supervisors on safety expectations, safe work practices, hazard recognition, and employee accountability.Conduct and coordinate accident, injury, near-miss, and incident investigations to identify root causes and establish corrective and preventative measures.Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and audits to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and gaps in compliance.Follow up on identified safety concerns and corrective actions to ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner.Develop, review, and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and other safety-related procedures and documentation.Maintain required OSHA records, reports, documentation, and safety-related recordkeeping.Monitor workplace safety practices and ensure company safety policies and procedures are consistently followed.Assist management and supervisors in evaluating work processes, equipment, and procedures for potential safety hazards.Recommend appropriate corrective actions, safeguards, training, or procedural changes when safety hazards are identified.Coordinate and support required safety meetings, training sessions, and safety initiatives.Maintain organized and accurate safety training records and other required safety documentation.Serve as a resource to employees, supervisors, and management regarding workplace health and safety requirements and company safety policies.Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees at all levels of the organization.Effectively manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize safety objectives based on risk and operational needs.Perform other safety-related duties as assigned.Why Join Our Team?Our family-owned sawmill has been a proud part of the local community for more than eight decades.
