Job summary

Joe Bland Construction, LLC is seeking a Safety Manager to lead and oversee safety programs across our construction sites. You will implement regulatory-compliant safety plans, conduct site inspections, and promote a culture of safety to reduce accidents and injuries.

The role requires 3–5 years of progressive safety experience in construction, OSHA 30+ or equivalent, and bilingual English/Spanish is preferred for clear communication with a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an onsite presence during all working hours; monitor operations, identify hazards, and provide immediate safety support.
  • Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections.
  • Maintain overall jobsite security and enforce site access, fencing, signage, lighting, and access points.
  • Coordinate with site supervision to prevent unauthorized entry and protect workers, equipment, and the public.
  • Deliver site-specific safety orientations for all new workers, visitors, and subcontractors; review hazards, emergency procedures, PPE, and site rules.
  • Participate in pre-task planning and toolbox talks; intervene and stop work when unsafe conditions are observed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of progressive safety experience in construction
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred with ability to communicate safety expectations clearly to a diverse workforce
Certifications & Formal Training
  • OSHA 30‑Hour Construction or OSHA 510 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry
  • Competent Person Training, including but not limited to:
    • Excavation & Trenching
    • Fall Protection
    • Confined Space (Construction)
  • Excavation and Trenching Safety Certification with practical field application
  • CPR / First Aid / AED (current)
  • Hazard Communication (GHS)
Jobsite Expectations
  • Maintain an onsite presence during all working hours. Expected Hours: 7AM - 6PM Mon-Sat
    • Be physically present to monitor operations, identify hazards, and provide immediate safety support
  • Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections
  • Maintain overall jobsite security
    • Ensure controlled access to the site and enforce site security procedures
    • Verify fencing, signage, lighting, and access points are properly maintained
    • Coordinate with site supervision to prevent unauthorized entry and protect workers, equipment, and the public
  • Conduct jobsite safety orientations
    • Deliver site‑specific safety orientations for all new workers, visitors, and subcontractors
    • Review project hazards, emergency procedures, required PPE, and site rules
    • Ensure documentation of completed orientations is accurate and up to date
  • Support safe daily operations
    • Participate in pre‑task planning and toolbox talks
    • Serve as a safety resource for supervisors, foremen, and crews
    • Intervene and stop work when unsafe conditions or practices are observed
