Job summary

Buzzi Unicem USA is seeking a dedicated Safety professional to lead and administer the facility’s health and safety program across operations. You will monitor compliance, conduct inspections, and drive incident prevention efforts with a focus on MSHA regulations and continuous improvement.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, a safety-related degree preferred, and up to 2 years in mining or equivalent experience. Strong communication and training skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Safety/Health preferred.
• 0–2 years in mining or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of safety codes including MSHA.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build consensus on safety issues.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
• Ability to train individuals or groups in safety.
• Ability to identify hazards and prevent injuries.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Passionate about workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility safety records and housekeeping assessments.
• Administer safety programs and related initiatives.
• Monitor work practices for compliance and address deficiencies.
• Attend facility meetings and support job planning for safety.
• Inspire safe behavior and assist departments to reduce risk.
• Analyze incident data to address recurring issues.
• Conduct accident investigations with root-cause analysis.
• Attend trainings to stay current with regulations.
• Review new regulations and propose compliance programs.
• Support MSHA inspections and contest citations.
• Provide coverage when Plant Safety Manager unavailable.
