AECOM is seeking a Safety, Health, and Environment Specialist to support complex Oil & Gas and remediation projects in Los Angeles. You will drive proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and help project teams through hazard analysis, planning, and execution readiness.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 4+ years of safety, health, and environment experience, with CSP/CIH/CHST preferred.

• 4+ years of safety, health, and environment experience in Oil & Gas or remediation projects.
• Must pass client-specific background and drug & alcohol screening.

Responsabilidades

• Perform comprehensive Health and Safety Plan (HASP) reviews to ensure regulatory compliance and project-specific risk mitigation.
• Provide planning support during project development, including hazard identification, risk assessments, and control selection.
• Lead or support pre-field kickoff meetings, ensuring alignment on safety expectations, procedures, and mitigation strategies.
• Partner with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to integrate safety into project execution strategies.
• Monitor and interpret local, state, and federal safety regulations applicable to Oil & Gas and remediation activities.
• Develop and maintain safety documentation, procedures, and reports in support of project needs.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support incident trend analysis and recommend corrective actions to minimize project risk.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Safety, Health, and Environment Specialist to support complex Oil & Gas and Remediation projects. This role plays a critical part in driving proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance, and supporting project teams through planning, hazard analysis, and execution readiness. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in health and safety program development, HASP reviews, and stakeholder coordination to ensure safe and efficient project delivery across various project phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive Health and Safety Plan (HASP) reviews to ensure regulatory compliance and project-specific risk mitigation.
• Provide planning support during project development, including hazard identification, risk assessments, and control selection.
• Lead or support pre-field kickoff meetings, ensuring alignment on safety expectations, procedures, and mitigation strategies.
• Partner with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to integrate safety into project execution strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline and 4+ years of relevant experience in safety, health, and environment support for Oil & Gas or remediation projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass client-specific background and drug & alcohol screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience supporting Safety, Health, and Environment functions for Oil & Gas and remediation projects.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHST.
• Experience leading HASP development and reviews for large or complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to support multidisciplinary project teams in a fast-paced environment.
