Baker Concrete Construction, Inc. is seeking a Field Safety Manager to promote the company's IIF culture by ensuring every co-worker returns home safely.

This role requires spending at least 90% of time in the field coaching crews on correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors, and embedding with project teams to improve safety, quality, and productivity. You will manage subcontractor safety coordinators, oversee safety programs, and lead training initiatives across high-risk activities, while

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (safety related major) with at least 4 years of construction safety experience.
  • Certificate in related field or OSHA 500 training certification.
  • CHST BCSP Certification required.
  • First Aid, Narcan, and Bloodborne Pathogens Training.
  • CPR and AED training.
  • Emergency Procedures Training.
  • NFPA 70E and LOTO training.
  • Mental Health First Aid Training.

Summary

The Field Safety Manager promotes the Company's IIF culture by ensuring every co-worker returns home safety every night. Is expected to spend a minimum of 90% of time in the field observing and coaching co-workers and Field Safety Representatives on correction of unsafe conditions and behaviors. Reinforces positive behavior through recognition and/or rewards. Serves as a resource to co-workers by answering questions about safety and sharing lessons learned. Uses leading indicators to influence the future direction of safety on the project. Embeds self with the project team and strategically "dives in" using a hands-on approach to improve project safety, quality, and productivity (SQP). Safety manager is responsible for overall SSSP execution, including, but not limited to management of subcontractor safety coordinators, sub-tier management, case & care management, craft training, safety administration, work coordination, and high-risk activity planning and development.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (safety related major) and a minimum of 4 years of construction and safety experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of a certificate in a related field, or construction experience with OSHA 500 training certification
  • Minimum Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Certification
  • First Aid, Narcan, and Bloodborne Pathogens Training
  • CPR and AED training
  • Emergency Procedures Training
  • NFPA 70E and LOTO (if applicable)
  • Mental Health First Aid Training
