Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Engineer who will implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program at project sites and ensure a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors and visitors. The position covers Safety Engineer I and II, with compensation based on experience and location.

• Document and track safety violations, conduct safety audits, analyze safety data, assist with major incident analysis, manage OSHA reporting
• Review safety submittals, monitor trade partner work plans, assist with onsite injury management, organize safety celebrations, participate in project planning/hazard analysis
• Provide safety-related information, evaluate industrial hygiene concerns, maintain knowledge of safety standards/regulations, serve as safety resource, attend/chair safety meetings
• Collaborate with client safety personnel, union representatives, insurance risk engineers, accompany safety/health/OSHA personnel on tours, ensure maintenance of safety equipment, manage PPE and safety budget
• Build effective relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

Summary Mortenson is currently seeking a Safety Engineer that will be Responsible for implementing Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program at a project site and ensuring a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction work site.

This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location.

Please Note - Safety engineers need to work a rotational travel schedule of 3 weeks on 4 to 5 day off with projects throughout the United States.

• The base pay range for this role is $78,800 Min - $98,500 Max

Safety Engineer II

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of related experience
• The base pay range for this role is $81,800 Min - $110,800 Max

(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
