Job summary

ElevenLabs is seeking an experienced AI Safety Engineer to deploy and operate automated moderation systems, with a focus on protecting free-tier users. You will help build scalable safety infrastructure alongside ML and full-stack engineers, bridging research and production for robust guardrails.

In this role you will own end-to-end technical execution, including architecture, deployment and monitoring, ensuring observability and scalable safety across multimodal spaces.

Qualifications

• 6+ years backend software engineering experience in production systems at scale.
• Proficiency with Python and building APIs, data pipelines and services.
• Experience deploying ML/AI systems in production and ML ops concepts.
• Cloud, containers, CI/CD, and observability best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend infrastructure for abuse detection and moderation.
• Architect robust APIs, data pipelines, and services for real-time and batch workflows.
• Implement monitoring, SLIs/SLOs, and alerting to ensure reliability.

You'll work alongside a team of ML and full stack engineers to build production-grade safety infrastructure from the ground up.This is a product ownership role where you'll be responsible for end-to-end technical execution of our safety systems, from architecture to deployment and monitoring.
