Job summary

Royalty Staffing is seeking attentive and detail-oriented drivers to join our client’s team of Autonomous Vehicle Safety Drivers in Dallas, Texas. You will help test and refine autonomous vehicle technology, driving safely and professionally while collecting data and feedback for engineers.

This is a W-2, 1-year contract position with a guaranteed full-time schedule, onsite work, and a competitive hourly pay rate of $25.

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional driving experience (rideshare, delivery, autonomous vehicle, or shuttle).
• Uber driver account in good standing (no deactivations or unresolved issues).
• Valid US driver's license for the last 3+ years with no lapse.
• Clean driving record with no DUIs, drugs, or alcohol offenses in the last 5 years.
• Able to anticipate hazards and act quickly and safely.
• Knowledge of local traffic regulations.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Willing to work in varying weather and on different roads.
• Takes ownership with high responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Operate autonomous vehicles safely and legally to collect data on system performance.
• Interact professionally with riders, engineers, and operations leaders.
• Monitor vehicle performance and conduct in-field testing for safety.
• Prepare vehicles daily for field operations, including safety checks.
• Submit detailed reports to support system improvements.
• Be prepared for actions of other drivers and pedestrians, and for unexpected events.
• Be alert and distraction-free while in vehicles.

Royalty Staffing is hiring for attentive and detail-oriented drivers to join our client’s team of Autonomous Vehicle Safety Drivers. In this role, you will be at the forefront of autonomous vehicle testing, contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge technology while ensuring the highest safety standards. This position is ideal for those with excellent driving skills, a passion for innovation, and an ability to act swiftly and safely in potentially adverse driving situations.

This is W-2, contract position that includes; health insurance benefits, competitive hourly pay rate, full-time schedule guaranteed, multiple schedule options and a vehicle provide.

Location – Dallas, TX, United States

Work environment - Onsite

Pay rate – $25 Per Hour

Schedule

• AM (6:00 AM–4:30 PM)
  PM (1:30 PM-12:00 AM)
  Available Schedules:
• Wednesday - Saturday
• Thursday – Sunday
• Friday–Monday
• Saturday – Tuesday

Assignment length – 1 year contract

As a Safety Driver, you’ll:

• Operate autonomous vehicles safely and lawfully to collect critical data on system performance and environmental factors.
• Interact professionally with riders, engineers, and company operations leaders to provide feedback and insights.
• Monitor vehicle performance and conduct in-field testing to ensure operational safety.
• Prepare vehicles daily for in-field operations, including safety checks and system readiness.
• Submit detailed reports to support system advancements and operational improvements.
• Be prepared for the actions of other drivers and pedestrians as well as for unexpected events.
• Be alert and distraction free while in vehicles.

• 5 years' experience as an professional driving experience which includes rideshare, delivery, autonomous vehicle, passenger shuttle or related experience
• If you have an Uber Driver account, it must be in good standing (no deactivations or unresolved issues)
• A valid US driving license for the last 3+ years with no lapse
• Must have a clean driving record with no DUIs, drug, and/or alcohol-related offenses within the last 5 years
• Able to anticipate hazardous situations and act quickly and safely, despite adverse conditions or the mistakes of others when operating a motor vehicle.
• Have a thorough knowledge of local traffic regulations
• Excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail
• A willingness to work in various weather conditions and comfortable driving on different types of roads
• Takes ownership with a high level of responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of vehicle technology and control systems
• Certification from safe driving or defensive driving courses
• Additional courses in Safety Driving or Defensive Driving
