Job summary

Volta is seeking a Safety Manager to own safety across all projects, setting standards and programs while supporting a fast-moving delivery organization. You will lead safety leads embedded in project teams, ensuring consistent standards, reporting and training as Volta scales across sites and countries.

The role requires proven safety leadership on complex construction, a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, and experience coordinating safety across concurrent projects with a data-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Safety leadership on data center or mission-critical construction programs.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience running safety across multiple concurrent projects or countries.
• Strong record managing contractor safety on major construction sites.
• Credibility to influence project leaders and executives.
• Data-driven approach to build safety culture.
• Willingness to travel regularly across sites.

Responsibilities

• Own Volta's safety strategy, standards and management system across all projects.
• Provide functional leadership to the safety leads embedded in each project team.
• Set contractor safety requirements, from prequalification through site execution.
• Run audit and assurance programs across active sites.
• Lead incident investigation and implement learnings.
• Build leading-indicator reporting for early risk sighting.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulation across multiple European jurisdictions.
• Drive safety in design through early project reviews.
