Job summary

English Construction Company is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support our safety program across construction projects in Virginia and North Carolina. The Safety Coordinator will work with the safety team, project management, field personnel, and subcontractors to develop, implement, and maintain effective safety policies and procedures.

The ideal applicant will report to the Safety Director and must perform hazard identifications, incident investigations, and maintain compliance with OSHA

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing safety procedures and policies.
• Conduct and coordinate regular safety meetings with project job sites.
• Promote open communication regarding safety among English Construction, clients, subcontractors, and project partners.
• Hazard identification and reporting.
• Accident and incident investigations.
• Corrective action and follow-up.
• Safety inspections and checklists.
• Employee and subcontractor safety training.
• Assist with ensuring compliance with OSHA.
• Complete required DBE reporting and documentation.
• Communicate with insurance adjusters, insurance companies, medical providers, and other relevant parties as necessary.

Safety Coordinator

English Construction is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support our safety program across construction projects in Virginia and North Carolina. The Safety Coordinator plays a critical role in protecting employees, subcontractors, clients, and project partners by helping develop, implement, and maintain effective safety policies and procedures throughout every stage of a project.

Reporting directly to the Safety Director, the Safety Coordinator will work closely with the English Construction safety team, project management, field personnel, subcontractors, clients, and insurance representatives. This position requires a proactive safety professional who can communicate effectively, identify hazards, investigate incidents, maintain accurate records, and promote a strong culture of safety throughout the organization.

The ideal applicant will be expected to perform the following duties:

• Assist in developing and implementing safety procedures and policies.
• Conduct and coordinate regular safety meetings with the project job sites.

• Basic Electrical Training
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• NFPA 70E – Electrical Safety

This position requires regular presence at active construction sites throughout Virginia and North Carolina. The Safety Coordinator must be comfortable working in a variety of weather and jobsite conditions and around heavy equipment, construction traffic, elevated work areas, excavations, structural work, and other construction hazards. A flexible work schedule is required, and overtime may be necessary based on project needs, safety requirements, emergencies, or other business demands.

The Safety Coordinator is an important participant in English Construction's overall construction effort. The successful candidate will have the confidence and professionalism to identify hazards, communicate expectations, investigate incidents, maintain compliance, and help ensure safe conditions for everyone working in or near our construction sites.
