Job Summary:This position is responsible for assisting with the implantation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of safety programs across projects and operations. This role focuses on field engagement, compliance support, training coordination, and accurate safety documentation to help maintain a safe, compliant, and proactive work environment. The Safety Coordinator serves as a liaison between project teams and the EHS department to promote a strong safety culture and ensure policies are understood and followed.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Assist with the implementation of EHS policies and programsConduct jobsite safety inspections and observationsSupport hazard identification and corrective actionsAssist with OSHA compliance and documentationMaintain SDS, permits, JHAs, and safety recordsAssist with incident and near-miss reportingSupport investigations and documentationTrack corrective actions to completionAssist with new-hire safety orientationCoordinate and track safety trainingSupport toolbox talks and EHS initiativesMaintain training records in LMS or safety platformsWork with Superintendents, Foremen, and Project ManagersProvide safety support on assigned projectsEncourage proactive safety reportingServe as a visible safety resource in the fieldMaintain safety logs and recordsAssist with data entry in safety systems (Smart Tag It, HCSS, Mindforge)Support audits and inspectionsPerforms other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:Strong technology skillsStrong use of Computers, iPads, Phones, etc.Strong communication and organizational skills (Outlook, Calendar Invites, Scheduling Meetings)Effective time management and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and meet deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentations.Excellent understanding of industry practices, requirements, and standards (federal, state, city, and OSHA).Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and provide effective feedback.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers.Able to travel on occasion and work additional hours to include weekends if needed.Education and Experience:High school diploma or GED1–3 years of construction safety experience, Civil and Building Construction.OSHA 30 and safety-related certifications preferred.Basic OSHA knowledgeProficient computer skills and experience with MS Office Suite applications (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and auditor safety software.Physical Requirements:Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including ground in varying weather conditions.Regularly sit, stand, or walk short distances for the entire duration of a shift/workday.May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.Regularly climb stairs or ladders, etc.Regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Exposure to the outdoor environment with machinery/equipment in the surrounding area.Able to wear personal protective equipment is required, including but not limited to steel-toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.Must be able to move, lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds at times.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
