Job description

Safety Coordinator | Mid-City Foundry | Milwaukee & Grafton, WI

Help strengthen workplace safety across two manufacturing facilities by coordinating safety programs, training employees, identifying hazards, and partnering with employees and leadership to foster a proactive safety culture.

Since 1941, Mid-City Foundry has built a reputation for quality, craftsmanship, and long-term customer partnerships. As a family-owned foundry serving regional businesses and Fortune 500 companies, we offer the stability of an established organization with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Position Overview

As our Safety Coordinator, you'll coordinate and support workplace safety programs across our Milwaukee and Grafton facilities. Working closely with employees, supervisors, HR, and plant leadership, you'll promote safe work practices, identify hazards, coordinate training, maintain required records, and support OSHA compliance.

This hands-on, visible role combines time on the production floor with safety program coordination, training, incident investigation, inspections, and recordkeeping. You'll also partner with HR on Workers' Compensation and return-to-work programs and provide limited environmental recordkeeping support.

This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys working directly with employees, building relationships, and strengthening safety practices in a manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate and maintain safety programs across two manufacturing facilities.
  • Support compliance with OSHA General Industry Standards and applicable state safety requirements.
  • Coordinate programs including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Electrical Safety, Fire Prevention, and Emergency Response.
  • Conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes and trends, and support corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver safety training and new-hire safety orientation.
  • Coordinate Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), PPE requirements, and employee safety records.
  • Maintain OSHA 300 logs and required safety documentation.
  • Support emergency preparedness, drills, first responder programs, and safety equipment.
  • Partner with HR on Workers' Compensation claims, return-to-work, and light-duty programs.
  • Coordinate required industrial hygiene and employee health testing.
  • Provide limited support for environmental testing, recordkeeping, and regulatory reporting.
What You’ll Bring
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Risk Management, or a related field preferred; relevant manufacturing and safety experience may substitute for formal education.
  • 3–5 years of workplace safety, safety coordination, manufacturing operations, or related experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry Standards.
  • Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and corrective-action practices.
  • Experience with safety inspections, incident investigations, and employee safety training.
  • Working knowledge of Workers' Compensation and return-to-work practices.
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work across our Milwaukee and Grafton facilities and interact with employees across shifts.
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License.
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.
Why Join Mid-City Foundry?
  • Family-owned foundry with more than 80 years of success.
  • Make a visible impact on workplace safety across two manufacturing facilities.
  • Work directly with employees, supervisors, HR, and plant leadership.
  • Hands-on role spanning safety programs, training, inspections, incident investigation, and continuous improvement.
  • Quarterly performance bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Collaborative manufacturing environment with long-term stability.
