Job summary

Meijer in Newport, MI is seeking a Loss Prevention / Safety professional to protect people and assets across our operations.

You will conduct training, lead safety drills, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while supporting a safe, inclusive work environment. This role emphasizes teamwork, communication, flexible shifts, and hands-on safety leadership across stores and facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in Loss Prevention, Security or Military background is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Working knowledge to meet compliance requirements of Federal and State policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Flexibility in performing assigned shift work.
• Conducts internal/external theft investigations.
• Ability to lead and teach classes related to safety, orientation, evacuation and powered equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hazardous emergency evacuation drills including tornado and fire drills.
