Job summary

Pacific American Fish Co. is seeking a Safety and Training Coordinator to drive safety programs, employee training, and regulatory compliance across seafood processing, warehouse, cold storage, and distribution operations.

The role focuses on hazard identification, injury prevention, inspections, and ensuring proper training. You will coordinate orientations, maintain training records, and lead safety initiatives in collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, HR, and QA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional safety education preferred.
• Experience in workplace safety, employee training, warehouse operations, or food processing preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA/Cal/OSHA requirements and workplace hazard prevention.
• Strong communication, organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar recordkeeping systems.
• OSHA 30-Hour training, First Aid/CPR certification, or relevant safety credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain workplace safety programs in compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations.
• Conduct safety inspections and address workplace hazards.
• Coordinate new-hire orientations and ongoing employee safety training.
• Maintain training records, safety documentation, and inspection reports.
• Provide training on PPE, equipment safety, hazard communication, and emergency procedures.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and coordinate corrective actions.
• Organize safety meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, HR, and Quality Assurance to promote workplace safety and compliance.
• Monitor safety performance, identify training needs, and report findings to management.

Job Summary

The Safety and Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating workplace safety programs, employee training, and regulatory compliance throughout PAFCO’s seafood processing, warehouse, cold storage, and distribution operations. This position promotes a safe working environment by identifying hazards, preventing injuries, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring employees are properly trained.
