Job summary

Perini Management Services, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Safety and Quality Control Manager to join our Death Valley Construction Team.

You will lead site safety program and QC activities, coordinating with Superintendents and Owner's Rep to ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1 and project specifications. The ideal candidate has strong federal construction experience, USACE CQM certification, and a proven track record managing multi‑million dollar projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of combined construction experience in PM, Superintendent, QC, Safety, Supervision or Management.
• Experience on at least one project valued at $25M+.
• Minimum 2 years as QC Manager.
• Minimum 3 years overseeing construction safety.
• Experience on Federal Construction Projects, preferably USACE.
• USACE CQM certification required.
• Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 required.
• Temporary relocation to the Death Valley region required.
• 4-year degree; PE or EIT a plus.
• Completed OSHA 30-hour for Construction.
• 24 hours of documented safety training within the past five years (excludes OSHA 30).

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage the approved Contractor Quality Control and Health and Safety Plans including all required meetings, inspections and follow-up inspections.
• Develop understanding of the company quality control and safety programs, standards, procedures and codes.
• Manage, review, comment upon and control the submittal process.
• Perform quality control inspections, witness tests, and coordinate QA inspectors with Owner's Rep.
• Maintain work performance and inspection records; ensure document accuracy.
• Prepare/implement quality control procedures, inspection instructions and test equipment control.
• Participate in internal/external quality control and safety audits.
• Review purchase documents to ensure QC requirements compliance.
• Inspect and inventory material shipments for compliance.
• Coordinate with the Superintendent to schedule safety and QA deliveries and activities.
• Coordinate subcontractors to ensure OSHA, EM 385-1-1 and Perini safety policy compliance.

As a Safety and Quality Control Manager at Perini Management Services, reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

• Implement and manage the approved Contractor Quality Control and Health and Safety Plans including responsibility for all required preparatory meetings, initial inspections and follow up inspections.
• Develop understanding/working knowledge of company quality control program, safety program, company standards, procedures, codes, etc. required to perform assigned work.
• Manage, review, comment upon and control submittal process.
• Perform quality control inspections, witness tests to determine acceptability of work, and schedule and coordinate QA inspectors with Owner's Rep.
• Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records and other related items; assure correctness of all documents.
• Assist in preparation/implementation of quality control procedures, i.e., inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment, etc.
• Participate in internal/external quality control and safety audits.
• Assist in reviewing purchase documents to insure compliance with quality control requirements.
• Inspect and inventory material shipments for compliance.
• Insure progress by proactively address Q.C. issues.
• Coordinates the project’s safety effort and ensures compliance with safety policies and procedures included in the Site-Specific Safety Plan.
• Manages subcontractors to ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1 and Perini’s safety program.
• Identifies and evaluates hazards, develops activity hazard analysis’s, proactively develops solutions for project safety concerns.
• Coordinates with Superintendent and monitors project schedule to adequately plan and schedule safety and quality deliveries, activities, and work prerequisites.

Requirements:

• 5 or more years of combined construction experience as Project Manager, Superintendent, QC, Safety, Supervision, and/or Management Experience.
• Experience on at least one project with a value of $25+ Million.
• Minimum 2 years experience as QC Manager.
• Minimum 3 years experience managing or overseeing construction safety.
• Experience working on Federal Construction Projects, preferably with USACE.
• USACE CQM certification required.
• Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 required.
• Temporary relocation to the death valley region required.
• 4 year degree, PE, EIT, a plus.
• Completed OSHA 30-hour for Construction.
• 24-hours of documented safety training withing the past five years (excludes OSHA 30-Hr.).
