Job summary

Safety Management Group is seeking a local Safety Advisor/Owner Rep for a construction project in San Antonio, TX. The role focuses on enforcing safety on site, coordinating with contractors, and leading safety initiatives on a multi-year greenfield manufacturing facility project.

The position requires five+ years in construction safety, OSHA 510 certification, and strong communication. Weekend work may be necessary; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, with a degree in Safety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Site safety observations and audits, including documentation of findings.

• Provide safety leadership for new and existing construction projects.
• Lead daily contractor safety representatives' meetings.
• Conduct formal safety observations and coach contractors on observation accuracy.
• Review contractor JSAs for completeness and accuracy of work.
• Lead, support, and participate in key safety initiatives.
• Promote the client’s core values: Motivate, Collaborate, Appreciate, Innovate, Relate.

Safety Advisor/Owner Rep

Safety Management Group seeks a local Safety Advisor/Owner Rep – Construction – San Antonio, TX.

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put Safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change. The Associate in this role will be working in a Construction setting. This is a greenfield project of a manufacturing facility. This person will be working 50-60 hours per week.

This person will be a subject matter expert for the Owner of the project ensuring that contractors and TM's are maintaining safety while performing construction activities at the facility. This project is estimated to last 3-4 years.

Requirements

• Five plus years of construction safety experience
• OSHA 510 - Construction
• Bilingual – English/Spanish is a plus
• A degree in Safety or a related field is preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Must be willing to work weekends as necessary
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Must be able to perform independently with minimum direct supervision
• Professional certification preferred (CSP, ASP, CHST, CIH, etc.)
• Steel erection a plus
