The role requires a valid Arizona CDL Class B with school bus endorsement, annual physicals, CPR/First Aid training, and background checks. 188-day year; pay range $18.08–$21.26 per hour; report to the Director of Transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Class B with school bus endorsement required.
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• School Bus Driver’s Certificate (CPR/First Aid) required.
• Pass annual physicals and drug tests per ADPS.
• Bi-annual refresher training per ADPS.
• Good oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform bending/kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Obeys traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Maintains order and manages students on the bus.
• Keeps bus clean and fueled, adheres to routes and schedules.
• Reports incidents, accidents, or delays promptly.
• Performs preventative checks on bus as required.
• Communicates with supervisor and school staff as needed.

Education

High school diploma, GED or equivalent life experience

Arizona CDL Class B with school bus endorsement

Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Arizona School Bus Driver’s Certificate (CPR, First Aid)

Annual physical examinations and drug tests per ADPS

Bi-annual refresher training per ADPS regulations

Oral and written communication skills

Ability to lift 30 pounds and perform bending/reaching
