Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed by the California Bar in good standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, client service, and analytical skills.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload under supervision and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive representation of applicants in workers’ compensation matters and manage cases to resolution.
• Appear before workers’ compensation boards, draft and prepare legal documents and motions, letters to clients, opposing counsel, and insurers; draft and respond to letters; take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses; negotiate settlements; and trial preparation as needed.
• Provide legal advice and analysis on legal rights and defenses to clients in a timely manner.
• Conduct legal research and factual investigations to develop strategies.
• Collaborate with Workers’ Compensation staff to maintain high standards of service.
• Attend client events as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with developments affecting workers’ compensation law and occasionally author bulletins.
