Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking a motivated Practice Builder to expand our Roadway practice in Sacramento, California. You will lead the growth of the local roadway design team, win work, and deliver projects while maintaining high client satisfaction.

The role requires extensive roadway project leadership, business development, and the ability to mentor staff. A clear path to ownership and a strong bonus program accompany the position.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience managing roadway projects.
• Proven ability to win and deliver work in local/surrounding areas.
• Knowledge of full life cycle of roadway projects (concept through construction).
• Experience with local agencies and Caltrans relationships.
• Ability to manage projects profitably while leading a team.
• Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Expand our roadway practice and presence in the Sacramento market.
• Lead complex engineering design tasks and client engagement.
• Grow and mentor staff; transition work to qualified staff.
• Provide vision, strategy, and goals for the roadway design practice.
• Manage projects with autonomy and ensure profitability.
• Pursue an ownership path with strong performance and bonus potential.
