Job summary

Sylvania at Ryan Intermediate is seeking a Media Clerk to assist students, staff and visitors in the Media Center under administrator direction.

The role involves guiding reading materials, helping users access print and online resources, and handling phones, mail, and files with strong collaboration and organizational skills. Start ASAP for a 42-week schedule, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., at $17.55/hour (Step 2).

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to students, teachers, and principal.

  • Type correspondence, answer phones, process mail, and maintain general office files.
  • Process and maintain paperwork for supplies, materials, equipment and inventory.
  • Plan and organize with good work habits and communicate effectively.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration.

Media Clerk – Ryan Intermediate
Job Summary:

Under the direction of the administrators, the library media clerk is responsible for assisting students, parents, staff and visitors in the Media Center.

Qualifications:
Required:
  1. High School diploma or general education degree
  2. Proficient use of computers including knowledge and use of Google Suite and student data systems
  3. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven organizational skill
  4. Demonstrated success as a collaborator and proven team player
  5. Demonstrated successful communication skills with students, staff, parent and community
Desired Characteristics:
  1. Prior secretary/library experience preferred
  2. Ability to handle many job responsibilities and prioritize duties
  3. Experience working with elementary students preferred
  4. Knowledge of library system management (shelf order, circulation, inventory and cataloging) preferred
Duties:
  1. To provide support to the students, teachers and principal
