Job description

Looking for an experienced RVT/LVT to join our small, but busy, clinic in the heart of downtown Dixon, Ca.

Tasks include:

• Inductions and Recovery
• Anesthetic monitoring & Surgical assisting
• Drawing up narcotics for surgical procedures or sedations
• Filling controlled medication prescribed by a veterinarian.
• Dental and general radiography
• Minor bandaging
• Venipuncture, collecting samples & in-house lab sample processing.
• Vaccinations, takes vital signs, SQ treatments, SQ injections, IM injections, IV injections, placing IV catheters.
• Maintaining records: Entering medical notes, entering charges, requesting out-side lab samples, discharge surgical instructions, etc.
• Cleans animal cages and equipment and prep surgery room/dental suite
• Some front desk i.e. answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, surgical discharge, etc.

Technicians at our clinic have the opportunity to work with canine, feline patients & occasional pocket pets. Requirements: 1 year of veterinary experience (w/in a veterinary clinic/hospital) + veterinary technician license. Flexible work schedule. Closed on major holidays (Memorial day, 4th of July, Labor day, Thanksgiving day, Christmas day and New Years day).

RVT Qualifications / Skills:

• Graduate from an accredited vet tech school
