Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking RVA CLS Field Technician 3 - 17824* in Cheyenne, WY to support the Sentinel program. This role is responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing system equipment at the Minuteman III Wing location, including becoming certified to operate special purpose vehicles and to perform tower climbs.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma, US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance, with occasional travel and strict adherence

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking RVA CLS Field Technician 3 - 17824*. This position is in Cheyenne, WY and supports the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do:

Maintenance Technician, Field Technician 3 at the Minuteman III Wing location in Cheyenne, WY is responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing system equipment for the Missile Field Battlespace Awareness Remote Visual Assessment system. Applicants must have the ability to maintain certifications for tower climbing, operation of large special purpose vehicles and understand basic industrial job safety and security protocols. This work requires dispatch year-round to the remote missile field and working at heights of 50 feet in a Bucket Truck, as well as climbing and maintaining equipment on radio towers. The ideal candidate is motivated to achieve higher technical skills as they gain experience in the position. Occasional travel will be required. This position will follows a 5/40 schedule Monday through Friday (shift 1).

Key responsibilities include:

• Inspecting, maintaining and repairing system equipment.
• Assisting with the installation of program upgrades.
• Support performance tracking and maintain accurate documentation.
• Strict adherence with Environmental, Health & Safety standards.
• Monitor/replenish bench stock, supplies and critical equipment.
• Obtain certification to operate special purpose vehicles up to Class B, requiring a Commercial Driver’s License
• Maintain Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid certification.
• Follow directions to conduct on-site testing activities to verify functionality.
• Maintain qualification for tower climb certification.
• Operation and inspection of calibrated tools.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Comply with safety and security policies/procedures while on-site or in Laboratory
• Follow technical guidance outlined in program maintenance manual
• Ability to climb ladders, poles, towers.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment(up to 40 lbs) and work in varied environmental conditions.
• Safely operate all vehicles and equipment.
• Valid current driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current/active DOD Secret Clearance.
• Experience with Minuteman III systems or other USAF weapons systems.
• ICBM Maintenance or Security experience.
• Prior or current certification for tower climbing.
• Prior or current certification operating bucket trucks at heights up to 50 feet.
• Active Class B Commercial Drivers License.
• Fiber optic repair and troubleshooting.
• Soldering certification.
• Cat 5 cabling/termination and repair.
• Experience with line-of-sight communications networks.
• Knowledge of network systems and IP based audio/video systems.
• Use of special purpose meters and hand tools.

Primary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
