Job summary

Lightship, based in Emeryville, CA, is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Android UI/UX and Systems Interfacing. You will architect user experiences and contribute to cloud infrastructure. The role involves designing engaging applications, integrating backend systems, and participating in full software lifecycle.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and proficiency in Kotlin. This hybrid position allows for flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency developing with Kotlin for Android.
• Experience using Flutter for cross‑platform application development.
• Basic knowledge of ProtoBufs, MQTT, and WebSockets.

Responsibilities

• Design and build engaging applications for Android and iOS platforms.
• Work closely with backend developers to integrate APIs and cloud services.
• Develop, maintain, and extend cloud server applications and infrastructure.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from gathering requirements to deployment.
