Job summary

Byerly Trailer & Mfg Co Inc in Eureka, Missouri, seeks an experienced RV Technician to diagnose, inspect, and repair travel trailers, motorhomes, and fifth wheels. You will demonstrate unit operation to customers and provide clear usage guidance.

Qualifications

• Certification from college/technical school in a trade field (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Maintenance, etc.) or applicable experience.
• Willingness to take ongoing CEUs in the industry.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, and repair RVs including travel trailers, motorhomes, and fifth wheels.
• Provide and electronically document diagnostic tests and repairs (photos) on a tablet.
• Install, repair, and maintain interior and exterior RV components.
• Perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and roof maintenance and repair.

Job description

Summary:

Responsible for diagnosing, inspecting, and repairing recreational vehicles including travel trailers, motorhomes, and fifth wheels. Demonstrates and provides instructions to the customer on the use and function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

• Provide and electronically document in tablet a complete diagnostic test and repair or replacement services to customers including photos
• Reports major issues to advisor or Production Manager
• Install, repair, and maintain interior and exterior components on recreational vehicles and travel trailers
• Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance maintenance including repair of electrical systems, water/heating, propane, slide out, satellite, and roof sealing/replacement
• Install hitches for travel trailers
• Install brake controllers
• Assist with day of delivery customers by showing them their units and or escorting them to the next station
• Track parts and materials used in repairs or replacements
• Ensure that the final work product meets quality standards
• Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and coworkers
• Tow trailers and 5th wheels with company vehicles and drive all sizes of motorhomes
• Assist Byerly RV in going paperless by working on tablet
• Assist in Byerly RV Shows - 2 a year Jan/Sept
• Perform other duties as assigned

Pay:

Hourly plus incentives based on hours billed

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Valid Driver's License, satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report with an insurable driving record
• Ability to fix mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and maintenance problems
• Must be knowledgeable on all aspects of recreational vehicles to teach customers
• Very fast paced environment - must have the ability to make decisions quickly and turn around units in a timely fashion

Required Education and Experience:

• Certification from college/technical school in trade field (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Maintenance, etc. or applicable experience
• Will be required to take continuing education in industry

Schedule:

Days - Must be flexible with availability to work some Saturdays. May require one Saturday every two months

Work Environment

This position operates in a shop environment. The employee will be exposed to a variety of environmental conditions including heat and cold. The noise level is moderate to high at times.
