Job description

RV Service Technician

RV Outfitters, a division of Motorhomes of Texas, has an immediate opening for a Service Technician. We are looking for individuals with good mechanical ability to learn how to diagnose and repair RV systems and accessories. The technician plays a very important role in our business by providing excellent repair and maintenance services for all types of motorhomes and recreational vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately diagnose electronic problems and determine how to correct them, checking wiring schematics, repair manuals, and part catalogs as necessary
• Update system software and confirm functionality.
• Perform proactive and emergency repair and maintenance on a variety of electronic audio-visual components.
• Install equipment and accessories
• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Motorhomes of Texas standards.
• Accurately record time spent on repairs utilizing company time clock procedures.
• Document work performed on the repair order and document test procedures/results.
• Maintain an organized and clean workspace, completing a stall cleaning every day.
• Ensure the customer’s RV is returned to them as clean as it was prior to service.
• Communicate additional service requests.
• Plan work procedures in cooperation with service manager.
• Provide labor time estimates to RV service manager.
• Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs.
• Keep current with factory technical bulletins.
• Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste)

Qualifications and Skills:

• Good disposition and excellent attitude
• Dependable, thorough and detail orientated.
• Experience with plumbing, woodwork or carpentry, mechanical and electrical work including 12V and 110V a plus
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• Applicants should have some of their own tools.
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background check and drug test.
